Idea: The town is located in Vellinge municipality on Falsterbonäset, west of Höllviken and east of Skanör. Ljunghusen began to grow at the turn of the century in 1900 as more and more well-to-do city dwellers built summer houses on the site. The place is named after the large amounts of heather that grow in the area. The buildings consist for the most part of villas. The resort is known for its beaches, golf course and its small swimming cabins on the beach. • “L, u” green = green meadows, the pine forest and the golf course • “j” brown = the straight trunks of the pines • “u” beige = fine sandy beaches. • “n, g, s” blue = the sea and the lovely bath. • “h” yellow = summer sun. • “e” purple = the heather. • “n” grey = the bathing cabins with arched roofs.
