Idea: Kallis = Ribersborg’s cold bath house or “kallis” as many call it, is a place for both summer baths, cold baths, massages, arranged parties and weddings as well as restaurant and coffee. The story behind Ribersborg’s cold bath house is this. The building was erected in 1898 on the initiative of cane manufacturer C. A. Richter and opened on June 1 of the same year under the name Malmö Saltsjöbad AB. The building material mainly came from a former bathhouse, which had to be demolished due to the port redevelopment. Richter had bought the old bath at auction. “K” light green = The color of the bathhouse on the fine wooden facade. “a” blue = the glorious strait bathing water. “l, l” orange, magenta = the color of red faces in winter and tanned ones in summer. “i” yellow = the sun in summer. “s” blue = the bathing waves in the Öresund strait.
